The 2010 “Best of Pacesetter” Basketball Camp will be offered for players entering grades 6-7-8-9-10 in 2010-2011 on the following dates:

DIRECTOR IN 2010: Jeff McCarron, Pacesetter Director
Coach McCarron will be directing camps for the 35th year this summer having directed over 200 camps since 1976. He is one of the top shooting clinicians in the Midwest and specializes in teaching championship fundamental skills learned from playing on championship teams with Sherburn (MN state champions - 1970), and the Minnesota Gophers (Big Ten Champions - 1972). McCarron also learned the teaching program of the 11-time world champion Boston Celtics from his college coach, John Thomas, who was a Celtic player in 1969 and shared much of this teaching with McCarron in camps from 1976-79. These camps were the inspiration for the beginning of Pacesetter in 1980.

Camp Program
The “Best of Pacesetter” Basketball Camp features the best of Pacesetter’s complete teaching program of championship basketball skills from Pacesetter's best coaches in a format featuring 20-24 hours of gym time instruction, drills, and games. Players will receive thorough teaching inevery skill area, and all players will get a chance for many repetitions to learn these skills. Players will then have a chance to make their skills a habit through 3-on-3 half court play and 5-on-5 full court games. Each player will receive a thorough review of their shooting form and a take-home shooting program. A number of contests and challenges will also be added to keep the camps lively and fun.

Coaching Staff
The ratio of players to coaches will not exceed 12-1, so all players will get plenty of individual attention. This camp will be limited to 48 players, so players will have ready access to the available baskets and courts with little waiting.

Camp Fees and Room and Board Option
Players may commute or receive room and board. The camp fee has been lowered this year from $170 to $140 due to a change of facilities from St. Ben's to Paynesville High School. Room and board fees are $120 for seven meals and two nights lodging at the Country Inn across from the school where all coaches and players will be housed.

Supervision
Residential players will be supervised 24 hours a day by the Pacesetter staff. The Pacesetter coaching staff will accompany all campers every step from the hotel to the gym and back. The Pacesetter staff will also stay in rooms next to the players to maintain 24-hour supervision.
