The 2010 Pacesetter Championship Basketball Youth Team Camp will be offered for teams entering grades 7-8 in 2010-2011 on Monday-Wednesday, July 19-21 at Paynesville High School, Paynesville, MN.
DIRECTORS IN 2010: John and Alex Carlson, Litchfield, MN
John Carlson is the head boys' coach at Litchfield High School. Alex is his son. Together, they led Litchfield to one of the best seasons in the history of Minnesota basketball when the 2000 Litchfield team went undefeated at 30-0, scoring 75.9 points a game and holding opponents to 42.7 points while winning the Class AA Minnesota State Championship and earning a No. 1 over-all ranking. Alex was a Mr. Basketball finalist and a two-time All-Conference player at St. Cloud State University. Litchfield went on to win two more state championships in 2002 and 2003 completing a four-year record of 114-8.
Team Camp Program
John and Alex Carlson will help teams learn the secrets of championship basketball in a 3-day intensive basketball program featuring 20-24 hours of coaching. The Carlson teams of 2000-2003 were some of the best teams in Minnesota basketball in any class. Pressure defense, fastbreaking, sharp passing, strong ballhandling, accurate shooting...and teamwork were the keys. Up to eight youth teams will learn championship skill fundamentals in all areas of play and learn how to play a variety of team defenses and offenses, plus fastbreaking and pressing strategies. Team coaches may attend the camp as a coaching clinic and coach their own team during games.
