The 2010 Pacesetter “Championship Basketball” Camp will be offered for players entering grades 6-7-8-9-10 on Tuesday-Thursday, July 27-29, at Paynesville High School in Paynesville, MN.
It will be a 20 to 24-hour teaching program with an average player/coach ratio of 12:1 or less.

CAMP DIRECTORS FOR 2010: John and Alex Carlson, Litchfield, MN
John Carlson is the head boys' coach at Litchfield High School. Alex is his son. Together, they led Litchfield to one of the best seasons in the history of Minnesota basketball when the 2000 Litchfield team went undefeated at 30-0, scoring 75.9 points a game and holding opponents to 42.7 points while winning the Class AA Minnesota State Championship and earning the No. 1 over-all Minnesota ranking. Alex was a Mr. Basketball finalist and a two-time All-Conference player at St. Cloud State University. Litchfield went on to win two more state championships in 2002 and 2003 completing a four-year record of 114-8. The Carlson teams of 2000-2003 were some of the best teams in Minnesota basketball in any class. Pressure defense, fastbreaking, sharp passing, strong ballhandling, accurate shooting and teamwork were the keys.

Camp Program
All players will receive 20-24 hours of championship basketball instruction in three days. The camp will be designed by the Carlsons to share their own secrets of championship basketball with each player. The camp will be a comprehensive program of teaching skills, running drills, and monitoring play in both half court and full court games. Each player will receive a thorough review of their shooting form and a take-home shooting program.

Registration Information
This camp is limited to only 48 players. It has filled quickly in the past, so interested players are encouraged to register soon. A registration form is available here, or players may register online here.

Camp Fees and Room and Board Option
Players have the option of attending as a commuter for $140 (no room and board) or as a residential camper for $260 (includes seven meals and two nights lodging at the Paynesville Inn & Suites next to the high school). Commuting campers should bring money to pay for meals on a per meal basis.

Supervision
Players will have supervision 24 hours a day by the Pacesetter staff. The Pacesetter coaching staff will accompany all campers to the gym, to meals, and back to the hotel. The Pacesetter staff will also stay in rooms next to the campers for 24-hour supervision.

Dependability
Pacesetter has been the Midwest leader in offering high-quality low-cost camp instruction since 1980 featuring some of Minnesota’s legendary players and coaches as camp teachers.
